lol hi guys. < v >

This is our(:iconeeriah::iconmistiousstar::iconbaka-kiiro::iconmiragev:) team submission for chapter 9. It's a game. Just download from the link, extract, and play. Simple. It's an RPG, but there are some things to take note of, which will be covered in the primer below.

-------------------- Game Primer --------------------

---------- Controls ----------

Confirm = Z/Enter
Cancel = x/Esc
Move Character/Navigate Menus = Arrow Keys
Skip Text = Shift

---------- Menu System ----------

The menu is pretty self explanatory. If you've ever played an RPG before, then you already know what's what.

Skill: Opens the skill menu and allows you to view each character's skillset. When selecting the skill option in the menu, press left/right to choose whose menu to go to.

Item: Opens the item menu and allows you to view and use the items you have in your inventory.

Status: Opens the status menu and allows you to view each character's stats.

Save: Opens the save menu and allows you to save the game. You can save anywhere.

Data: Opens up some misc options for you to check like quitting, going to the title screen and such.

---------- Battle System ----------

The battle system is pretty simple. When a battle starts, your party will go first and you can then begin doling out actions as you see fit. Actions will be executed right away and you can choose them in any order you want. You can also use up all your actions with less than four characters.

----- Press Turns -----

The Player and Enemies take action in separate phases. During your turn, you will see four white blocks displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. These are your turns. When it is your turn, press left/right to change characters freely and up/down to scroll the command list and choose a command for them. When a command and a target is chosen, the action will be executed immediately.

The Player and Enemies can gain additonal Press Turns however. By using skills that boost Speed, additional blocks are added to the turn count. Be aware that only 6 Press Turns can be kept at max, so don't waste time trying to gain more!

----- Attack -----

Self explanatory. The character will execute a normal attack against their chosen target. Normal attacks are fairly weak, but against some enemies, they may become more powerful.

----- Skills -----

A character's arsenal of special skills. Skills cost either HP or SP to use and one can't use them without sufficient resources of either. Beware of skills with an HP cost however, as enemies are actively damaging your HP as well, so you should monitor your character's HP carefully.

All skills are subject to a variable cooldown after use. The standard is 3 turns for a skill to cool down, but some might take longer. There are also some skills that must warm up before they can be used.

----- Guard -----

By guarding, you can recover a small bit of HP/SP as well a entering a cover state. In this state, you actually will cover for a party member with less HP. So Guard is a useful tool. Especially for high DEF characters.

----- Item -----

Browse and choose items to use in battle. Items are an important resource since enemies are dangerous and will try their hardest to kill you.

Don't be afraid to use your items in or out of battle. Especially since there are no free heals anywhere. Hoarding them will do you no good!

----- Awaken -----

A special command available to all party members. When the purple diamond next to a character's GUI is full, they can use the Awaken command. This command restores HP/SP, Boosts ATK and DEF, as well as restoring all cooldowns. So in addition to getting a free power boost, all skills immediately become useable again.

Awaken costs a Press Turn however, so be aware of that.

----- Skill Boost -----

By using certain skills back to back, characters can team up to use different skills altogether. Skill must be used immediately after one another, and in a certain order. To compensate for their restrictive use, Skill Boost abilities are powerful. Be sure to figure out which abilities link into others!

Here are a few freebies.

Ice Dance + Garula = Ziodyne

Magarula + Hama = Megidolaon

Mighty Swing + Herculean Strike = Akasha Arts

...The rest? Good luck finding them out.

---------- Other Stuff ----------

- This doesn't work on Macs. Not without windows virtual machine anyway. Or so I will assume.

- There are some minor hiccups throughout, but nothing gamebreaking as far as we know. Our times up anyway, so- :icongtthplz:

- Extensive credits are featured in game, so yeah. No need to add more space to this already huge wall by posting them here.
